Jytte Fredholm Ferreira has spent more than 30 years immersed in the wild landscapes and marine environments of Southern and Central Africa.

Born in Sweden and based in Cape Town, she has dedicated much of her life to wildlife conservation, education, tracking and visual storytelling — moving between worlds as a wildlife photographer, licensed anti-poaching ranger, speaker, writer and conservation advocate.

While the past 25 years have been deeply focused on Africa’s terrestrial wildlife and wilderness ecosystems, her earlier work was also closely connected to the ocean. She was one of the founding members of the South African White Shark Research Institute, where she led the conservation and education department for more than a decade, helping foster greater awareness and protection of marine wildlife.

Her work has appeared on Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and SVT. She has received the SKÅL International Award for media and conservation, serves as an Ambassador for The Perfect World Foundation and is a Conservation Emissary in support of Peace Parks Foundation.

Her fine art wildlife photography decorates some of the finest homes around the world, reflecting a body of work shaped by decades spent observing and understanding the natural world at an intimate level.

Her strength lies in a deep understanding of the land, its wildlife and the subtle patterns that shape each day — combined with an instinct for timing, positioning and presence.
